Madrid´s WiZink Center reopens its doors to live music before 5.000 people
Raphael performed tonight the most crowded concert in Spain since the start of the pandemic
Madrid´s WiZink Center made history tonight becoming the first Spanish and European venue to reopen its doors to live music, with spectators attending physically. They did with a concert by Spanish legend Raphael, who will repeat tomorrow, in which he celebrates his 60 years on the roads.
Antigen tests for all the staff, complete renovation of the venue´s air every 12 minutes or a double gap in between seats are some of the security measures put on place to guarantee the security of the almost 5.000 people that attended today, which are 30% of the building´s full capacity.
“It certainly is a challenge. But it is not brave, it is an act of responsibility”, said Manuel Saucedo, CEO of Impulsa Eventos e Instalaciones, the society that manages the venue. “We not only comply with the rules laid down by Madrid´s Government, but we multiply them”.
